Matte Revolution Lipstick in “Magic Red” in a beautiful red and rose gold limited edition is a unique dark red with a strong pink undertone and a satin matte finish. This shade was previously called “Shanghai Nights” and although the formulation is quite creamy and pigmented, the application is a bit patchy. It is difficult to build a very opaque coverage and whenever I press my lips together, the pigments tend to harden and transfer between the upper and lower lips. So I think this lipstick is best paired with a similar colored lip liner.

Measure and monitor intracellular cathepsin-B activity in vitro over time. In this test, the Magic Red substrate turns red when it is cleaved by the active enzyme cathepsin. Analyze the fluorescence signal using fluorescence microscopy or a fluorescence plate reader.
Increased activity of cathepsin enzyme in serum or extracellular matrix can indicate many pathological conditions. ICT’s Magic Red test kits are used by researchers who want to quantify and monitor cathepsin activity in cultured cells and tissues. This test kit detects cathepsin-B activity. To use Magic Red, add substrate directly to cell culture medium, incubate and analyze. Because it is cell persistent, it readily penetrates cell membranes and the membranes of internal cell organelles—no lysis or permeabilization steps are required. When the cathepsin enzymes are active, the magic red substrate is cleaved and the cresyl violet fluorophore becomes fluorescent upon excitation. As the enzyme’s activity progresses and more of the Magic Red substrate is cleaved, the signal will intensify, allowing researchers to watch the color develop over time. Samples can be analyzed by fluorescence microscopy or a fluorescence plate reader. Hoechst 33342 and Acridine Orange are included in the kit to detect the morphology of the nucleus and the formation of lysosomal organelles.
